Hello everybody. My name is Kevin Counts and I'm a Constitutional Conservative running for State Rep for the 27th District, which includes Gibraltar, Grosse Ile, Riverview, Southgate, Trenton, and Wyandotte.
A little about my background: I've lived downriver for the vast majority of my 50 years of life. I am married to a woman who also grew up downriver and our children were all raised downriver. I am an Army veteran (having served in Mogadishu, Somalia), police officer for nearly twenty-five years, and business owner.
What drove me to leave police work and enter politics:
Over the last several years, I have watched in awe as Democrat politicians have demonized police officers and then sat back and made excuses as to why police are being killed and resigning in record numbers. They then made excuses as to why crimes rates are soaring, when it was obvious that their rhetoric and antics are the cause. (They are now going on TV and social media to let everyone know that they have always supported police. They are posting pictures of themselves with police officers and fire fighters all over their websites in an attempt to rewrite history before the upcoming election.)
These same politicians, put our State in a months long, unconstitutional lockdown. A lockdown that nearly destroyed my family business before we were even able to open the doors. Now that we are approaching midterm elections, just as they did with public-safety, they are trying to rewrite history and have us all forget the harm they caused and the violation of our rights. I am going to fight these people and their flawed ideology and policies with every ounce of my being.
We have other challenges in our area and State. In brief, we need to bring safety to our schools - kids cannot learn and teachers cannot educate when they go to school in fear. We need to stop the politicization of our schools and address their substandard performance, which has been a problem for many years. We need stop government policies that give preferential treatment to billion-dollar corporations while ignoring the lifeblood of our economy, small business. And, we need to ensure that the McLouth Steel, Trenton Power Plant, and Solutia sites are safely remediated (at the expense of the companies that own them and not the tax-payers). These sites can then be redeveloped to bring jobs and prosperity to our area.
Of course, there are other issues that concern me and others that will come up while I'm in office, but these are my main areas of focus as I head to Lansing to represent you.

AND, don't forget to spread the word!
Thanks, Kevin
I 99% (or so, remember Joe the Plumber, how about Durr? The Trucker that knocked off the NJ House (or 2nd in command) leader? and even though #Trump was #POTUS45 I still think of him as the OUTSIDER I AM SUPPORTING FOR 2024, etc) of the time SUPPORT THE OUTSIDER CANDIDATE(s). This shows why it cannot be 100% of the time. I am still supporting KRISTINA KARAMO (see: https://jlenarddetroit.locals.com/post/1446811/the-attached-advertisement-for-kristina-karamo-is-wrong-see-image) and any number of the Outsiders Candidates in the MIGov race (makes ZERO SENSE to pick one yet, until we see who makes the filing requirements/deadline) but heavily leaning toward Trump favorite Tudor Dixon. BUT, remember, a POTUS45 endorsement isn't INFALABLE! He just pulled his Mo Brooks endorsement, he should have never given in the first place, and he'd endorsed Luther Strange, MITT ROMNEY, Ronna for RNC, need I go on? He still is making TOO EARLY CHOICES based on BAD ADVICE OF OTHERS! Sadly, another reason why Tom should NOT drop out, who President Trump tried to appoint during his term to a Post that STABYANOW AND PETERS blocked (under USSenate Rules) or Tom would've been another one of the many Trump appointees in Office now/already! DePerno shows, again, his UNHINGED side (acting more like a ranting/raving FASCICRATS SNOWFLAKE than a serious Candidate) with this INCITING RIOTS/VIOLENCE! Again, said this over and over on the radio, in emails, in phone conversations, I could/would support someone, well I would have before this GOING WAY TOO FAR, could have supported someone with wild antics, hyperbole, etc, for MIHouse, MISenate, or even a Congressional seat, but he shows time and time again HE IS NOT A SERIOUS PERSON and unqualified to be TOP LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER OF MICHIGAN (while inciting Riotous behavior)! LET ME REPEAT AGAIN, said this over and over on the radio, in emails, in phone conversations, I could/would support someone, well I would have before this GOING WAY TOO FAR, could have supported someone with wild antics, hyperbole, etc, for MIHouse, MISenate, or even a Congressional seat, but he shows time and time again HE IS NOT A SERIOUS PERSON and unqualified to be TOP LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER OF MICHIGAN (while inciting Riotous behavior)! And for those who feel you cannot Vote for Tom for whatever reason, yes, I get it, he's been around a long time, he's certainly NOT A RINO but by definition of his long term Service is THE INSIDER in the Race, so Vote for that other (3rd) guy!! This article was in the Snyde Report (gary@snydereport.com) (DEMOCRAT based) and was originally from Michigan Advance (DEMOCRAT based) - OH, I'm not talking about the STORMING part, I'm not even talking about the Meshawn Maddock part, (or Ron Weiser trying to persuade Tom Leonard to "drop out" of the AG race), I'm talking about the "15% Hard Working Republicans" part. Go to "Michigan Precinct First" Click on Conventions and there is no mention of this rule or how an outcome could be pre-determined by "packing" the vote. I have asked many long-term, smart, active, informed precinct delegates and everyone is familiar with the term, "Hard Working Republicans" but not the 15% (some thought it was 10%) or how they get chosen. JUST SAYING! In my quest to learn and be accurate about the information I share, if anyone knows where to find the ULTIMATE GOP RULES & GUIDELINES book, please pass that information on to me, and other eager-to-learn folks who are struggling! It's hard to help win the game when the rules are hidden! And while I'm on a rant, Who selected the people on the Michigan committee that voted NOT to use paper ballots at the state convention? I understand that some of those positions are filled by Party executives but I don't recall ever having had the opportunity to vote for or against the others representing (?) me. Margaret APRIL 8, 2022 1:41 PM Michigan Advance michiganadvance . com Republican candidate for attorney general Matt DePerno is urging his supporters to “storm” Republican county conventions across the state. DePerno, who received the unusual endorsement of Michigan GOP Co-Chair Meshawn Maddock, despite there being two other candidates in the race, told his supporters to register for conventions in each of Michigan’s 83 counties, where delegates for the statewide endorsement convention will be selected. During a rally last weekend with President Donald Trump, DePerno told his supporters to “storm” the conventions, and his campaign has set up a website with the same message. “Every one of you delegates, raise your hand right now. I need every one of you to go to county conventions on April 11. It’s time we storm the convention,” DePerno said. “And if you’re not a delegate, you still need to go to county convention. It is time to storm the convention.” The other Republicans seeking the nomination are former House Speaker Tom Leonard (R-DeWitt) or state Rep. Ryan Berman (R-Commerce Twp.). Republican precinct delegates and officeholders will meet at county conventions Monday to select who to send to the statewide endorsement convention on April 23 in Grand Rapids. The nominee will face Democratic Attorney General Dana Nessel in November. Under the rules set by the Michigan Republican Party, those precinct delegates elected in the August 2020 primary are given preference to become delegates to the statewide convention. Under a “hard-working Republicans” rule, however, the county convention could choose to allocate up to 15% of its statewide convention seats to people who are not precinct delegates but would be treated as if they are. If enough elected delegates at a county convention favored DePerno, they could select to send non-delegates who would also support their candidate of choice rather than other elected precinct delegates who may support Leonard or Berman instead. Usually, candidates for attorney general and secretary of state would be selected at August nominating conventions, shortly after new precinct delegates were elected in the August primary. This year, however, the Republican Party opted to hold an early endorsement convention in a bid to give the candidates more time to build their general election campaigns. Michigan Democrats used a similar strategy in 2018 when seats were open due to term limits. Maddock also endorsed Kristina Karamo for secretary of state over state Rep. Beau LaFave (R-Iron Mountain) and Chesterfield Township Clerk Cindy Berry. Some candidates had already questioned the fairness of the convention following Maddock’s endorsements, leading some to speculate that a candidate who loses at the endorsement convention could continue their campaigns into the August nominating convention. “At the end of the day, frankly, I think it’s going to backfire on her,” LaFave said following Maddock’s endorsement Karamo. “Everyone that loses at convention is going to be upset by the appearance of impropriety, even if one does not manifest itself at convention. So I’m sure that when I win at convention, everybody that doesn’t win is going to be very upset.”
